Reticular coordination polymers — Robson and Hoskins

~1989 AD · Transmission: Global
ChemistryDiscoveryBritish

Richard Robson and Bernard Hoskins describe the first coordination polymers with designed three-dimensional network topology, demonstrating that metals and organic ligands can self-assemble into crystalline networks with predictable geometry. Their work laid the conceptual groundwork for the reticular design Yaghi would systematize and Kitagawa apply to functional porous materials.
